This course is about the people, peoples, and polities, as well as the ecological and environmental factors, that have turned the space that Xinjiang occupies into the place of Xinjiang today. The course design will be modular. Units address key archaeological sites, explore histories of excavation, and explain how the on-going “unearthing” of Xinjiang makes it one of the most complex places in the world today.

[/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#F5F3EE” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_4,1_4,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#E4D4C8″ border_radii=”on|27px|27px|27px|27px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_cta title=”I Got One” button_url=”https://www.i-got-one.org/” url_new_window=”on” _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_level=”h1″ header_font=”|800|||||||” header_text_align=”center” header_text_color=”#A47551″ header_font_size=”29px” use_background_color=”off” custom_margin=”60px||||false|false” custom_padding=”55px||32px||false|false” link_option_url=”https://www.i-got-one.org/” link_option_url_new_window=”on” border_radii=”on|27px|27px|27px|27px” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_cta][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_blurb url=”https://www.i-got-one.org/” image=”https://sites.nyuad.nyu.edu/globalasiainitiative/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/扫logo-Tony-Kinninger-250×250-1.jpg” _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” image_icon_custom_margin=”20px||-10px||false|false” text_orientation=”center” link_option_url=”https://www.i-got-one.org/” border_radii_image=”on|27px|27px|27px|27px” box_shadow_style_image=”preset1″ locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_blurb title=”A shared online think tank for Chinese characters” url=”https://www.i-got-one.org/” url_new_window=”on” _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”10px||||false|false” custom_padding=”|30px|||false|false” link_option_url=”https://www.i-got-one.org/” link_option_url_new_window=”on” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

NYU Abu Dhabi’s Global Asia Initiative was a proud sponsor (AY 21-22) of this crowd-sourcing website, which collects and shares learners’ strategies in studying Chinese characters.
