FILM SCREENING | Heritage, Memory and Mobility Research Kitchen
How does one grasp the relatedness of Indian Ocean World, and attempt to understand mobility, place-making and, indeed, displacement in the long nineteenth century? Through several life stories from different generations and places that have marked the Goan presence in two Tanzanian cities, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, and its reflection in Goa, this film aims shed light on Goa and Tanzania links through the stories, memories, objects and places that testify the deep connection between these two shores of the Indian Ocean. Join us for a screening of this recently completed hour-long documentary, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker and the scriptwriter of ‘The Club’, Nalini de Sousa and Pedro Pombo.
