The Anthropocene: Urbanism, the Environment and Sustainability Research Kitchen invites you to an informal gathering and information session from 2:00pm – 3:00 pm GST on November 8.
The Anthropocene marks a transformation in the earth’s history from the Holocene to a new geological epoch characterized by human impact. While mindful of the term’s semantic and conceptual limitations, our purpose is to engage directly with the Anthropocene concept’s transformative power. Bringing together scholars and artists, we ask: What is the added value of the concept of the Anthropocene for the Arts and Humanities?
We encourage new members and project proposals aiming to engage with the transformative power of the Anthropocene through research, creative practice, and pedagogical interventions.
The Research Kitchens is an Arts and Humanities divisional initiative that aims to fuel multidisciplinary and collaborative research and creative activity.
Faculty, staff and students are welcome! Light refreshments will be served.
