Overview
Writing in French as Another Language in the 21st Century
In the wake of seminal works and reflections devoted over the past thirty years to heterolingualism, multilingualism, and, most recently, to translingual Francophone literature, the international symposium “Writing in French as Another Language in the 21st Century” aims to examine the diversity, complexity, and stakes of literary writing in French as another language in the 21st century, addressing both its aesthetic, linguistic, and political aspects.
Come listen—either online or in person—to specialists who have specifically traveled from various continents to discuss this subject and advance research through their intersecting perspectives on this topical issue in literature and language. Participate—online or in person—in exceptional meetings and readings with internationally renowned novelists and poets that include Makenzy Orcel, Miguel Bonnefoy, Elke de Rijcke, Raluca Maria Hanea, François Heusbourg, Ryoko Sekiguchi, and Mehtap Téké.
