Usman Ahmad
Human Rights Activist

Usman Ahmad is a human rights activist for the Ahmadi community in Pakistan. This work  regularly involves undertaking research, analysis and the writing of human rights reports as  well as organising and presenting at local and international human rights events. As part of his  work he has spoken before governments on Ahmadi issues and also more recently at the 2020 UN Forum on Minority Issues. His academic training is in history and he has established  himself as a freelance writer and photographer publishing in The Guardian, Vice, Huffington Post, The National, Foreign Policy Magazine and many more. He also works as a consultant for news documentaries with the BBC, France 24 and other media outlets. Fluent in both  English and Urdu he has translated works from Urdu to English. He is currently working on a  contracted book project on the political situation and social condition of the Ahmadi community in Pakistan.
