Projects such as \u2018cityinflux\u2019, \u2018Gentricity\u2019, &#8216;build\/browse&#8217; and \u2018Stories of Philanthropic Trusts\u2019 map vulnerability within redevelopment\u00a0 strategies of urbanisation or record timelines and \u2018blindspots\u2019\u2014alternate markers of a city that\u2019s\u00a0 unraveling. A study of combative histories of reclamation and speculation have led to projects\u00a0 such as &#8216;Isles amidst reclamation&#8217; and &#8216;Seven Isles unclaimed&#8217;. Another decade-long project\u00a0 recording ship-breaking practices at Alang, Gujarat have led to the exhibitions \u2018Shipping &amp; the\u00a0 Shipped\u2019 &#8211; showcased at the Bergen Assembly, Art &amp; Research Triennial,2016, \u2018Sea Change\u2019- Colomboscope Biennale, 2019 and \u2018The Stonebreakers\u2019 at Warehouse421, Abu Dhabi in 2020. Awards &amp; grants include Majlis Visual Arts Fellowship, UDRI Fellowship, Leverhulme Artist\u00a0 Residency, Harvard University SAI Artist Residency, Atelier Prati Print Residency, Seed Funding Award -Wellcome Trust and a Gasworks\/Wellcome Collection Artist Residency\u00a0 collaboration for which he produced an interactive drawing depicting his research on the\u00a0 Bombay plague of 1896.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ranjit Kandalgaonkar lives and works in Mumbai and his art practice primarily comprises a lens directed at the urban context of cities.
