Deborah Williams<\/strong> has published academic articles about US women writers and feminist historiography, including Not in Sisterhood<\/i>\u00a0(Palgrave). With Cyrus RK Patell, she is co-editor of\u00a0Oxford History of the Novel in English Volume Eight: US Fiction from 1940;\u00a0<\/i>she also contributed the chapter on US children’s literature. From 2014-2018, Williams wrote a biweekly column for\u00a0The National<\/i>, the English-language newspaper of the UAE; other non-academic writing has appeared in\u00a0The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Rumpus,\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0Brevity.\u00a0<\/i>Her most recent book,\u00a0The Necessity of Young Adult Fiction<\/i> (Oxford, 2023), focuses on the ways that young adult fiction\u00a0offers imaginative reconceptualizations about identity, nation, and the human relationship to the planet.<\/p>\n

Her research interests include Feminist literary history and historiography; Writing and composition pedagogy; Children\u2019s literature; Global liberal arts education; Creative writing<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
