Nasir Memon

Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, NYU-Poly

Nasir Memon is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and director of the Information Systems and Internet Security (ISIS) laboratory at NYU-Poly. His research interests include digital forensics, data compression, and multimedia computing, and security.

He received a Master of Science in Computer Science and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska in 1989 and 1992, respectively.

He has published more than 250 articles in journals and conference proceedings and holds more than a dozen patents in image compression and security. He has won several awards including best papers awards and educator awards. He has been a principal investigator or co-principal investigator on research and education grants exceeding $20 million.

He was the editor-in-chief of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineer’s (IEEE) Transactions on Information Security and Forensics. He has served on the editorial board of many journals and is currently on the editorial board of IEEE Security and Privacy Magazine.

He is an IEEE Fellow and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Signal Processing Society.

Michail Maniatakos

Michail Maniatakos

Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NYUAD

Michail Maniatakos’s scholarly interests span from abstract computer science to hardware manufacturing. Maniatakos has published in several key research areas, such as computer architecture, design and test, microprocessor reliability, and hardware security. He has received the IEEE TTTC Gerald W. Gordon Award for exceptional service to the community, and won the Embedded System Challenge at CSAW VIII and CSAW X, in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Maniatakos directs the Modern Microprocessor Architectures Lab (MoMAlab) at NYUAD and his research focuses on homomorphically encrypted general-purpose computation, hardware security, industrial control system security and heterogeneous microprocessor architectures. In 2014, he received a $400,000 grant from Consolidated Edison, New York, for research on smart-grid cybersecurity. Maniatakos received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Piraeus, Greece and his M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Yale University.

Hoda A. Alkhzaimi served in different posts for research and development in Cyber Security and Cryptology for the past years. She headed the Department of Research and Development for Cyber Security and Cryptology in different national initiatives in the United Arab Emirates along with her associations to different security initiatives nationally and internationally.

Alkhzaimi has a specific expertise in cryptology; cryptanalysis, constructing and validating security hardware and software components, constructing trusted security architectures for different environments in different products for the respective industries. Hoda A.Alkhzaimi obtained her PhD in Cryptanalysis from Denmark Technical University. Her current research interests include Space, Aerospace and UAV security, constructing and analyzing cryptographic primitives, validating and investigating links between different cryptanalytic approaches and utilizing cryptographic primitives in different cyber security architectures as in Internet of Things and big data analysis among others.
