Assistant Professor of Political Science, NYU Abu Dhabi
Adam received his Ph.D. in political science at the University of Rochester in 2010. He specializes in American politics, political methodology, and formal theory. His research focuses on the applications of cutting-edge methodologies to the study of legislative and electoral behavior. He is currently writing a book with Gary Hollibaugh (University of Notre Dame) and Jonathan Klingler (Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse) wherein they develop text-based methods for measuring legislator personality from 1996-present. Using these measures, they examine how legislator personality traits impact the sorts of decisions they make, even after accounting for party and ideological preferences.
