In “NEUROCITIES: Psychological Impact of Actual Built Environments” by Oliver Baumann and Daniela Ottmann, the relationship between natural and built environments and their effects on mood, stress, and cognition is explored. While many studies have investigated these relationships, there is a lack of research on the bio-climatic impacts and spatial configurations on physiological perception in the actual environment. NeuroCities aims to address this gap by conducting experiments in urban areas and measuring the aggregate entropy, then relating it to empirical measures of psychological well-being obtained from human subjects in those areas, specifically within the Gold Coast Council area.
