On 28-29 April 2023 at NYU Abu Dhabi, an workshop was convened by George Jose, Visiting Professor of Anthropology at NYUAD, to explore the current and future trends of urban Asia. The discussions focused on the dynamics of social infrastructure, migration, gender, and consumption, among other topics. The event, sponsored by NYU Abu Dhabi Global Asia Initiative and CITIES, NYUAD, also assessed the impact of construction, mobility, surveillance networks, and digital technologies on the region’s culture, leisure, and work industries.
